Bill Van Delft

September 30, 1938 - June 17, 2019

Suddenly and with great sadness we
announce the passing of Bill Van
Delft on June 17, 2019 at the age of
80 years after a long struggle with
COPD. He leaves behind his loving
wife Mary (nee Horzelenberg) after
56 blessed years of marriage, his
children: William (Sharon) and Jonelle
(Stan), and six loving grandchildren:
Owen, Aaron, Tom, Jenna, Victoria
and Julie. Bill is survived by his
sisters Audrey (Kamps - Van Keulen)
and Lydia (Peter Demik), and
predeceased by his brother, Richard
Van Delft. Bill was much loved by
everyone in his extended family, his
colleagues, friends at the church, and
the Ambassador Male choir of which
he was a member for many years.
Bill worked for Stelco for five years
as an instrument technician before
deciding on further education and
graduated from Calvin College with a
BSc. in 1965. Afterwards, Bill traveled
all over Canada as a Salesman in
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare
products. Nothing gave Bill more
pleasure than travelling throughout
North America from coast to coast,
seeing new places and making new
friends. He loved reminiscing about
the people he knew and the places
he'd been.
Visitation will be at Clark`s Funeral
Home, 567 Upper Wellington St.
Hamilton on Friday, June 21, from
2-4 and 7-9. A private interment will
be on Saturday, June 22, with the
funeral service following at Chedoke
Presbyterian Church, 865 Mohawk
Rd. W. on Saturday, June 22, at 11:00.
If desired, memorial contributions to
Calvin Christian School, Hamilton, ON
would be appreciated by the family.

It was just a couple of weeks ago my brother Ed and I were sharing memories from the past. Bill's name came up. We remembered with a chuckle or two stories of Bill's summer job at our farm, It think it turned Bill off farming for life!!! He always had a zest for life... even way back then. He had a contagious laugh. My late husband Joe loved him as a friend .......Bill was in our wedding party.
My sincere condolences Mary, to you especially, and to all who mourn his passing.
