Obituary
Hepsy Principi (nee Hart)
With grace and courage, Hepsy passed away peacefully on February 3rd at the age of 89. She was a vital and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Hepsy was predeceased by her devoted husband Jack, loving mother to Terry Horton (Ron), Elaine Principi (Jeff), Nancy Amsterdam (Nick), John Principi (Diane), Pat Principi (Sue), Lorraine Principi (Rob). Beloved Nana to Branden, Chris, Michael, Stephen, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Matthew, Greg, Cameron, Sean, Alex and Juliana. Nana-nana to Logan, Nolan, Hudson and Ruby. Hepsy will be missed by her brothers Bob Hart (Barb), Wilf Hart (Carole), and closest friends Gayle and Gary Love, along with many nieces and nephews.
Hepsy moved from England to Canada in 1948 as a teenager, settling in Hamilton. She got her first job at Stelco in the tin mill where she met her future husband Jack and they began their life together. A true selfless matriarch, she graced her family with wisdom, wit and strength that will live on in us forever.
A special thanks to Dr Patel, the palliative care team, the staff on B3 and the Emergency Department at the Juravinski Hospital. Your thoughtful care was deeply appreciated.
Hepsy chose to be cremated with an internment and celebration of her life to take place at a later date.

As we cannot be together at this time, an opportunity to share your memories has been made possible on the Clark and Sons website at

Neighbours were an important part of mom’s life. In her memory a donation to your local charity such as Neighbour to Neighbour or extending a hand to your own neighbours would be wonderful.

We were so sorry to hear of Hepsy's passing.
Being neighbours of hers for many years we got to know her pretty well.
She was always very friendly and such a wonderful person. Dick will really miss her gardening advise. RIP Hepsy

Dear Pat and family:
I always felt that you must have an exceptional, long-suffering mother. Too bad she missed your 'Doug and Bob MacKenzie' routine with Sean Hastings at the Cathedral Boys assembly.
And she missed the kindness you displayed at our Dundas home. You were a hero in our young children's eyes. The older ones saw you as a fine friend.
My condolences.......remember the good times!
