KATER, Alice (Aaltje) in her 90th year, our dearly loved mother was joyfully welcomed by Jesus, holding the hand of her deceased son Allan, into Heaven in the early morning hours of September 16, 2021. Born in Winterswijk, Netherlands, October 10, 1931, she emigrated to Canada in 1955, first settling in Alberta, and later Ontario. Predeceased by her second husband, John. Lovingly and fondly remembered by her children, Theodore (Cindy) Terpstra, Sylvia (Tim) Leroux, Jerry (Beth) Terpstra and James (Kari) Terpstra. Forever cherished by her adoring grandchildren, Alaina, Michelle, Karl (Kaylee), Vanessa, Jennifer (Richard), Rebekah, Nathan, Jonah, Justin, Courtney (Alex) and great-grandchildren John, James and Jacob. Survived by her brothers Geert (Anneke), Klaas (Gerda), predeceased by her sisters Bertha and Klaske, and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, all in the Netherlands. Graciously and lovingly remembered by Richard (Irene) Kater, Henry (Sally) Kater, and Hans (Joanne) Kater. Will be missed by her dear friends Joanne, Nellie and Hendrika. Visitation from 10 -11 a.m., followed by private service (invitation only) at Mt. Hope Community church in Mt. Hope. Service will also be livestreamed via church's YouTube Channel.
