Joanne Raiser

August 9, 1947 - October 17, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne (Biggley) Raiser. With family at her side, she peacefully succumbed to a lengthy battle of various health issues at the Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved wife of William, loving mom to Jennifer (Todd) and loving grandmother to Brooke. Joanne was predeceased by her parents Joe and Flo Biggley and leaves behind siblings Norm (favourite brother) and Janet (George). Aunt to George, Shelley, Amanda and Steven. Joanne will forever be remembered by her best friend Jo-Ann Johnson and many others. She worked at McMaster University in the shipping and receiving department for 30 years and took part in all of the annual fall fairs, loved to quilt, knit and sew. Joanne was a volunteer for Participation House in Binbrook with William for 30 years. A proud moment was when Joanne was awarded with the Order of Niagara for her commitment to St. Stephen on the Mount Anglican Church and all of her community work. Joanne loved kids and was a volunteer at the Big Brothers, Big Sisters for about 7 years. Many many thanks to the staff at Victoria Gardens for mom's care over the last three years as well as the care she received at the Hamilton General, ICU. Visitation will be held at M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home at 567 Upper Wellington St. on Thursday, October 21 from 1-3pm. Please contact Clark & Sons at 905-383-3323 or clarkandsonsfuneralhome@outlook.com to book a time for visitation. Funeral will be held at St. Stephen on the Mount Anglican Church at 625 Concession St at 11am on October 22. Contact Jennifer at 905-515-5755 if you wish to attend due to capacity levels. Interment to follow at White Chapel. Guests are asked to maintain physical distancing and wear a face covering. Contact tracing and temperature checks will take place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Stephen on the Mount Anglican Church would be appreciated in lieu of flowers or to your preferred charity.
