William James Verboon

February 16, 1959 - October 24, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of William (Bill) James Verboon announces his sudden passing on October 24, 2021 at the age of 62. Bill will be dearly missed by Judy Verboon (Postma), his beloved wife and partner in crime for 38 years. Cherished son of Jack and Jane (predeceased in 2017) Verboon and son-in-law to Ron and Jean Postma. Loved brother to Jerry (Lois) Verboon, Rich (Cindy) Verboon and Ben (Patti-Ann) Verboon and brother-in-law to Shirley (Simon) VandenDool, Sylvia Postma and Ted (Bernadette) Postma. Favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bill will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour and pranks; his passion for the wind, water and the open road (windsurfing, waterskiing and motorcycling); his love for camping, travelling and spending time with Judy and his genuine care for his customers at Tower Service Station.

A private family memorial and burial will take place. Condolences may be made online at maclarkfuneralhome.com.

While I haven't seen Bill in a long time, I know how much he looked out for his Dad--he was Jack's 'right-hand man' and was always there for everyone in his family. This is a very sad loss for all of you. Condolences from Angela and Ray.

My deepest condolences to the entire Verboon family. It saddened my heart to hear the sudden passing of Bill. I Knew him to be a joyful and genuine man with a great sense of humour. He was always joking around and laughing with us in the shop and putting a smile on our faces. I enjoyed my time spent with Bill. He was a great friend to all of us and will truly be missed. Rest in peace Bill.

On behalf of the Montgomery and Hickey families, I would like to send our deepest condolences to the Verboon family. Bill and Jack were friends with my dad Howard who passed in 1994 and Tower Service Centre was my dad’s happy place. Both Bill and Jack were so kind to our family and I know will be deeply missed.

Judy, let me begin by stating how upset and saddened I am by Bill's sudden passing. Our family has known Bill since 1982 and all members of our family have been clients at Tower's Service Station at one time or another. Bill and John have always taken care of us with utmost care and as a result I can't recall how many people I have told about the excellent service that Tower's provides at a fair price.

The atmosphere that Bill created was warm inviting and caring. Bill in my mind was the qunitessential owner. In time we became friends and during hard times he turned a blind eye to my bill payments. I always enjoyed discussing with him the trips that you and Bill took south because we took the same routes on those vacation trips. We will miss him as I am sure you will but take comfort in the fact that while he was on this earth he lived a good life , he was respected by many, and loved by all.

It is with much sadness that we express our condolences to the Verboon family, and staff of Tower Service Station. We knew and dealt with Bill from the time he worked at Tower with his dad. Bill was always smiling and loved to talk about good books and share vacation stories. You always felt like you were more than just another customer to Bill. We will remember him as a very genuine person who was a friend to everyone he met. We will miss him, his good humour and his friendship.

My deepest sympathies to the Verboom and Postma families and to the wonderful staff at Towers Service Station. Bill was a guiding light, always leading me in making the best choices for maintaining and eventually replacing my vehicles over more than 30 years. His sense of humour, devoted customer service, kindness and friendship, knew no boundaries.
May He Rest In Peace.

Condolences on the passing of Bill, we used to take our vehicles to him at Tower Service. He always had a smile on his face. Years later, my boss also took his cars to him, he swore Bill was the best. Heaven just got a lot funnier
Rest in Peace Bill, you are missed❤️

My deepest sympathies goes out to the Verboon family. May you be surrounded by friends and family during this time of grieving. I used to work at Tower Service Station and Bill was an amazing boss. He was so funny and always pulling pranks at work. On Fridays, I would go across the street to 711 and pick up coffee crisps for the two of us to eat on our drive home. Bill would drop me off because I was on the way and I can remember countless times of us listening to music on his old iPod and doing figure 8s in the snow of the court I lived in. Bill was such a kid at heart. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers ❤️
