Frederick Lishman

December 31, 1969 - April 18, 2022

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Frederick Vernon Lishman on April 18, 2022 in his 83rd year. Survived by his loving wife Bernice of 62 years. Loving dad to Lori (Gerry) Lishman-Roeland, Joanne (Dave) Ledger, Denise (Terry) Riopelle, and Sharon Lishman. Beloved "papa" to John, Cameron and Katherine Roeland; Eric and Adam Ledger; Sarah and Alex Riopelle. Survived by his brother, Bob and predeceased by brothers Alan and Harley. Fred worked for Dofasco for 33 years and retired in 1992. After his retirement, Fred fulfilled his lifelong dream of building a cottage where many happy memories were made of fishing and boating with his grandkids. He shared with his four girls his love of swimming, woodworking, and gardening. At his home of over 60 years in Hamilton, Fred enjoyed sitting on the porch and chatting with lifelong neighbours. Fred's outgoing personality and sense of humour will be missed by his family, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at M.A. CLARK AND SONS in Hamilton. In memory of Fred, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. In the interest of keeping everyone safe and healthy, masks are mandatory.

Dear Denise, although I only met your father on one occasion, I know through our long and dear friendship how very close you two were. He was your rock and mentor. You and your family have a treasure trove of wonderful memories to help support you in this very difficult time. Although he will be desperately missed he will live on in your heart and that of Sarah, Alex and Terry. I am sorry that we can’t be with you in your time of need but you are in our thoughts always. Love Yvonne and Wade.
