CANON MILLS OBITUARY
The Reverend Canon Eric Charles Mills was called home by his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 15, 2022 at Wentworth Lodge Nursing Home in Dundas. Father Eric celebrated his 58th year of Ordination on December 6, 2022. From 1945-1948, Eric served in the Royal Navy as a Petty Officer. He came to Canada to work as a mechanical engineer to work for Avro. He returned to England where he taught engineering. In 1960, Eric returned to Canada to attend Trinity College. After retirement, Eric served as Interim in many Parishes. Deeply loved husband and best friend of Yvonne (nee Court) of 36 years. Predeceased by his father and mother, Charles and Emma Mills, brother Claude, and dear sister, Gwendolyn all of England. Eric will be dearly missed by Yvonne's daughter, Christine Young (Samuel) of Ancaster. Loving father to Angela Hume (Peter) of Nova Scotia and Rosemary Kordowski (Henry) of Toronto. A truly cherished papa to Erica Harrison (Dave), Caroline Hume, Kristen Kordowski, Katrina Kordowski (Ozan), Brock and Paige Young. Great-grandfather to Kendel and Rowen Harrison. Predeceased by his first wife Joan Arnold. Visitation will take place 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for the Life of Eric on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Christ's Church Cathedral, 252 James St. N. Hamilton, by The Very Reverend Doctor Tim Dobbin, and The Reverend Canon Peter Davison. Reception to follow. Interment at a later date. Many thanks to Dr. Richard Packer for his wonderful care and friendship. Yvonne and family wish to sincerely thank the staff at Wentworth Lodge Nursing Home, especially for the loving care that Eric received on Trillium Court.
