Hesba Mary Williams of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday 8th August 2023 after a short illness. Hesba was born on 24th August 1930 to Maud and William Williams in Bargoed, South Wales. After finishing school in Hengoed, she studied in Cardiff Royal Infirmary and qualified as a Physiotherapist. In 1954, Hesba worked in London but soon travelled to Canada to work for a year. After a brief return to London, she decided to make her home in Canada. She worked at Chedoke hospital and spent many years working with the Arthritis Society where she developed Water Therapy programs for Arthritic clients.
Hesba is predeceased by her 6 siblings and her best friend Joyce Dillon. She is survived by her niece Angela, her nephew Bill and many great, great great and great great great nephews and nieces.
A service of thanksgiving will be held at a later date for friends and family. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Arthritis Society.
Hesba’s family and friends would like to thank the staff at Amica in Stoney Creek, Juravinski hospital and St Peter’s hospital for their love and care in her last years. The family would also like to express thanks to Betty Toplack for her selfless love, care and dedication for Hesba’s well-being over a number of years. An example to us all and a true guardian angel.
