Whitehall, Beatrice
August 21, 1923- October 24, 2025
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Beatrice, at Margaret's place in Dundas, Ontario on Friday October 24th, 2025 in her 102 year.
Beatrice was born in L'Ardoise, Cape Breton, NS to Mary Ann and Daniel Bona. She was the youngest of 14 children. As a young woman, she moved to Halifax, NS during the 2nd world war. She found a job at Victoria General Hospital in the Kitchen and Housekeeping. One evening, with her co-workers, they set out to attend a dance and that is when she met her husband George. George was in the Navy and his ship was stationed in Halifax at that time. Shortly after they married, they moved to Hamilton, George's hometown, and in 1948 bought their first and only home on East 13th Street where she resided until October 1, 2025.
Beatrice loved family, cooking and baking for us. She also was an avid gardener, loved to go dancing and listening to live music. She even, on occasion, would break out her harmonica and play us old tunes and when visiting Cape Breton, would play with her brother Lawrence. Beatrice always had a smile on her face and she was loved by everyone who knew her.
Beatrice is survived by her four children, Elizabeth, Robert (Patricia), Deborah and Brenda. Her grandchildren, Paul (Mary), Kimberly, Shannon (Patrick), Belinda (Brian), and Bradley (Heather) and her four great grandchildren, Timothy, Clayton, Henry, and Clare. She was predeceased by her husband George, sons-in-law, Philip King and Donald Wallace, and Grandchild Ryan Wallace.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Margaret's Place for their wonderful care of our mother while she was there. Also, we would like to thank Bayshore and Paramed's Home Health Care staff for all that they did to help with her care over the years.
