Funeral Service
Wednesday, November 5 2:30 pm at Chapel Hill Cemetery
This service will be live-streamed over
the internet at the following link.
Burns, Donald Weldon (Hamilton) - On October 27, at the age of 86, Don passed away. He is predeceased by his wife (Arlene), and son (Michael). He is survived by his daughter Christine (Joseph), and son Glen (Carolyn). Grandpa to Danielle (Jesse), Eli (Kenny), and Connor. Special Grandpa to Sam and Bentley.
Don was a proud member of Unity Lodge #47 of the I.O.O.F. for almost 60 years. As a skilled tradesman, Don was a Carpenters Local 18 Union member for almost his entire working life. He coached Atom division hockey for several years. He also enjoyed bowling, camping, golf and sometimes tennis, but only in his “tennis shoes.” We will miss your generosity, sense of humour, advice and company during happy and challenging times. Always welcoming and supportive, you and mom were the bricks and mortar of the family. We will miss you dearly.
We extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Extendicare Ridgeview Long-Term Care Home for their professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society are welcomed. Visitation at M. A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, November 5 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
I was so glad to have seen you that last Thanksgiving weekend when we were all together.
Thank you for your generosity in welcoming me into your family when I was dating your son Michael & afterwards, after his passing.
I've enjoyed your sense of humour & your one-liners when least expected.
I'm glad I was able to give my final farewell at the service yesterday.
You will be sorely missed.
Love,
Lisa M.
