Barbara Florence Salisbury NEE Gibbs February 15, 1939 - Saturday May 9, 2026

Peacefully our mother, grandmother and Nana joined her Lord, at 87.

Joining her in Heaven her beloved husband James (deceased 2013), parents Margaret and Ross(Phylis) Gibbs, in-laws William & Rita Salisbury, William, Mary (Keith), and Ray (Connie).

Mom said her greatest accomplishment are her children. James Salisbury (Karina), Rebecca Salisbury (John Dryden), Sheila Fildes (Jeff) and Bill Salisbury(Kelly).
Cherished Gramma of Rita (John), Mara (Raffaele), Jordan (Joy), Dylan (deceased), Nathan, Meg, Billy Jack, Amelia and Sophie.
She loved, beyond belief, being Nana to Dallas, Eden, Sofia, Nolan and Celeste.
Also survived by Josee Remillard (Salisbury) who remains a part of the family and sister-in-law Isabelle Salisbury.

Aunt to John & Karen, David (deceased), Mark and Debbie. She cherished and loved staying connected to her many cousins Cheryl, Brian, Kathy, Greg, Doug, Jeff, Thelma, Charlotte, Francis, Gary, Sharon, Ronnie, Lori, Sharon and Debbie.

Remembering long time friends Murray Robertson (deceased), Norma Noftell (deceased), Keith (deceased) & Barb Hillmer (Bestie & Godmother to the kids), Mary Jane Olsav, Susan & Lou Friscolanti and Linda Shortt. She treasured her many friends from the neighborhood and work.

Mom was a courageous Mother raising 4 children close in years. Rangling these energetic kids at times led to her saying Jimmy, Becky, Sheila, Billy until she landed on the right name.

Mom spent her life working in the service industry because she loved engaging with and caring for people, and they knew it from her warm, engaging smile. To some in our Roller World family, she was known as Mama Bird, and that title stayed with her. She loved seeing so many of your faces when she got to the pier. Mum was born and raised in Westdale, with a move to the East End in '67. Mum loved her city. Hamilton was home, and she will rest with our dad and their view of the city she loved.

Mom had her TV converter to the ready for her Toronto Blue Jays Baseball team. She loved the colour purple and her birthstone of Amethyst.

Special gratitude to Dr. Creachman, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Stallwood for the decades of care. Thank you to The Hamilton General, The Hamilton General Heart Clinic, Juravinski, St. Joseph's and St. Peter's Hospitals for their attention to Mom over the years.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the St. Joseph's Villa and the Primrose Lane team. Although not there long, your embrace and love for Mom will not be forgotten.

She was "The Sunshine of our lives", and we will bask in the rays of your love forever. Visitation will be held at M.A.Clark & Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington St. Hamilton on Tuesday May 19th from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service is to be held at St. Joseph’s Villa Chapel in Dundas on Wednesday May 20th at 11:30 am.

Mom enjoyed volunteering at her community food bank. In kindness, donations to The Hamilton Food Share would be appreciated.
