Elaine Brookes

June 21, 1950 - August 31, 2026

BROOKES, Elaine Louise
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Elaine and our Mom. Elaine is lovingly survived by her devoted husband Jack of 51 years, her sons, Andrew (Alcides), Noel (Jackson), and her brother, David Stewart. Pre-deceased by her parents, Tom and Helen, and brother and sister, Tom and Carol. Aunt ‘Laine’ was loved by her many nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Abe), Christopher, Lori, Tommy (Amy) and her great nieces and nephews, Souraya and Abie, Heather (David) and CJ, who she loved like they were her own. She was a proud, determined, wife and mom, who was never afraid to stand firmly in what she believed and for her family. She loved her sons fiercely and importantly she never doubted that they loved her back just as much. Elaine had a personality that is unforgettable with a laugh to match and was often witnessed at the cottage with her beloved cottage family.
She will be remembered for her strength, her independence, her spirit, and the many special moments that made her who she was. We welcome all who wish to pay their respects at The M.A. Clark and Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington St Hamilton on Saturday, September 5th from 12pm – 3pm for visitation and Chapel Services at 3pm followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Heart & Stroke foundation.

My thoughts are with you, Jack, and the boys and their partners. It’s been such a pleasure and so much fun to reconnect in the past several years. It’s very apparent that her beautiful spirit touched so many!!! (((HUGS)))

I’m sad that I won’t be able to laugh with, and see my Aunt Elaine again. She was always there for me whenever I needed her. She had strong convictions and a wisdom that I respected. She raised a beautiful family, and my heart goes out to, my Uncle Jack, Andrew, Noel, and Uncle Dave, Jennifer, and Christopher. Rest in peace, Aunt Elaine. ❤️❤️

We are so deeply sorry and shocked at the same time, she was family not by blood but by love, we’ve known the Stewarts and Brooks family for over 40 years! My kids only knew them as Auntie Laine and Uncle Jack, and Nanny and Poppy. I’ve lost a piece of my heart on Monday that I’ll never get back. She was my friend and best of all the one I could always turn to for advice. I will truely miss this woman more than you know!
